If I have taken the vaccine, can I transmit the virus to others?

The vaccine will protect you from getting seriously ill and ending up in hospital.

But it’s possible that you could still carry the virus and be contagious to others.

So if you do get the vaccine, it’s important that you continue following the current guidance to protect those around you.

To protect yourself and your family, friends and colleagues, you still need to:

  • HANDS – Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds;

  • FACE – Wear a face mask when around others; and

  • SPACE – Practice social distancing of at least 2 metres where possible
